Emotional Freedom Technique
Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT, is based on the same principles as acupuncture, utlising the traditional Chinese medicine understanding of the flow of energy, or qi, through our bodies. Whereas acupuncture is primarily concerned with the physical effects of blockages to this flow of energy, EFT is focused on the emotional repercussions of a blocked energy meridian.

Rather than using needles, EFT employs a form of acupressure, tapping on the end points of the energy meridians, located around the upper torso and face.
The tapping clears any energy blocks, allowing the problem emotion or fear to be released.

EFT is particularly effective in alleviating fears, phobias and anxiety.
EFT is also a remarkably useful tool when working with children as they are not always able to understand or verbalise why they are struggling with a particular issue.
With EFT, as with Hypnosis, there is no need for the client to fully understand the whys and wherefores of their problem for the treatment to be effective in alleviating it.
